Lanzarote Enduroman Training Camp Summary – February 2026
In January 2026 we headed to the Enduroman training camp in Lanzarote and had an absolutely brilliant week swimming in the crystal-clear waters of Playa Blanca, talking training, and fully immersing ourselves in the Enduroman world.
The hotel breakfast buffet deserves special recognition for fuelling the week’s efforts. Rachel was particularly impressed by the oranges carved into animals — morale-boosting nutrition at its finest.
Swimming
Each day we swam from the jetty at Playa Blanca, starting at 09:00. By the end of the week we had clocked up around 10 hours of swimming each. It genuinely felt like swimming through an episode of Blue Planet — the clarity of the water and variety of fish made it one of the most enjoyable swim locations we’ve ever trained in.
Sunday Simulation Challenge
The big challenge came on Sunday: a six-hour run/walk through the night followed by a four-hour swim. We rotated two hours on, two hours off, and learned a lot about nutrition, pacing and the realities of trying to rest and recover. By the end of the run though the pavements at Lanzarote felt like mountains! We’re planning at least two more simulation events before August to keep building that experience.
